Pip Donaghy: Role of Reverend Parris

Pip Donaghy says that his character, Reverend Parris, moved with his family to Salem from Barbados in 1692. He says that Parris is an idealist, and moved back to Salem to return to his community, despite leaving behind a thriving business. Parris is the one who discovers the girls dancing in the woods, and the play opens with him kneeling and praying anxiously over his daughter Betty's comatose form.
