Many young people today have lost interest in politics. Rhinoceros has a huge amount to say to the apathetic younger generation, as it addresses the feelings that many people today have about the political process. The play was, in large part, a response to the rise of fascism in Germany in the 1930’s. This type of dehumanising political process turns humans into animals. Animals are most dangerous when they group together; movement director Sue Lefton talks about the danger of the herd. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
