This sequence was recorded early in rehearsals. Assistant Director Matt Wilde works with Anna Maxwell Martin (Lyra) and Chris Larkin on the scene where Lyra deceives Iofur Raknison by playing on his hopes. They pay particular attention to creating the illusion of the listening, reacting and attending through the bear mask rather than the actor.
