Sally Leonard's audition

Director Jonathan Church, Casting Director Siobhan Bracke and Associate Director Neale Birch auditioned actor Sally Leonard for the roles of Mercy Lewis, Betty Parris or Susanna Walcott, these parts also requiring the actor to understudy a leading part. She reads for the part of Abigail, and Neale reads John Proctor's lines. After Sally's audition, the panel discusses how important it is for the Abigail character to be taller than the other girls. Sally was not offered a part in The Crucible .
