Designing the set was a key part of the pre-production for The Crucible. Director Jonathan Church and designer Simon Higlett worked together to create models of the set. They considered the important ideas and themes in the play and tried to create environments where the actors could effectively communicate these ideas. The touring of this production was a huge practical consideration for the team: they had to create a set that could be transported to six different theatres!
