Jonathan Church: Creating a style

There are many moments in The Crucible where the director and designer have to decide what they actually want the audience to see. When the girls claim to see things, for example, the apparitions can be physically present on stage or not. Director Jonathan Church says that the style of the play developed through the rehearsals rather than making the decisions upfront.
