Oliver Cotton: Role of Danforth

Actor Oliver Cotton, who plays Deputy Governor Danforth, says that his character is brought in as an authority figure to sort out the situation after everything has gotten out of hand. Danforth realizes that there is evidence that the girls are lying and that people have been wrongly convicted, so he must work fast to hide the lie, and prove instead that witchcraft exists and the devil is loose in Salem.
