Nicholas Tennant: Setting of the play

Nicolas Tennant says that setting The UN Inspector in a fictitious but realistically depicted country allows it to parallel any corrupt government without directly linking it to one country. For him the play is a farce rather than a satire, and is subtle in the way it makes links to current events.
