The materials used

The Wars of the Rosesdesigner Jessica Worrall explains the collaborative process of developing her design, from initial discussions with the director to producing a rough model of the set which they discussed at a ‘concept meeting’. Then a “white-card” model of the set is made (although Jessica’s used colour), which also indicates the kind of materials to be used and helps the theatre to cost the design. Subsequently the designer may have to modify her work to fit within the production’s budget.
